Pawełczyk legal office and IIP fdn., with the support of Ius Publicum fdn., hosted an international group of Ph.D. students visiting University of Silesia as part of the 8th edition of the PEPP event.
The Ph.D. students were representants of such counties as Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium and New Zealand.
The meeting was moderated by Dr Marlena Jankowska-Augustyn. She gave a very warm welcome to the participants and to the most prominent speakers, experts on legal issues surrounding new technologies.
The first to present was Dr Damian Flisak, who gave a brilliant talk on Artificial Intelligence – a threat to the anthropocentric copyright law? Later on, the students were introduced to the topic of geoinformation, geodata and personal data by Dr Michał Barański. He shared a few thoughts on Protection of employees? geolocation data in EU law. The event was summarized by Dr Marlena Jankowska-Augustyn with a talk on Geodata – a New Object of Intellectual Property?, who shed some light on the most relevant IP issues what are to come with the emergence of new technologies.
